Could I Benefit from Counselling?

Sometimes we know that something isn't quite right, but we're not sure whether it's something we should work through on our own or whether speaking with someone could help. This short self-assessment is designed to help you reflect on how things have been for you recently.

There is no “good” or “bad” result. You don't need to be in crisis, have a diagnosis, or have everything figured out before seeking counselling.

Sometimes counselling is simply a space to understand yourself better, work through something difficult, strengthen your relationships, or make changes you've been struggling to make on your own.

Answer each question based on how things have been for you over the past month.

Question 1 of 12

Questions About This Tool

Is this a test for a mental health condition?
No. This is an original Baṣirah Care self-reflection tool. It cannot diagnose anything and it does not decide whether counselling is clinically necessary. It simply helps you notice how things have been for you lately.
Do I need to be in crisis before counselling is worthwhile?
No. Counselling is often a space for self-understanding, working through something difficult, strengthening relationships, or making a change that has been hard to make alone. Wanting support is itself a valid reason to explore it.
Are my answers stored anywhere?
No. Everything is scored privately in your browser. Nothing is saved, sent or shared, and no account is needed.
Why does it ask about the past month?
A recent, defined window helps you answer from memory rather than general impression, and reflects how things have been lately rather than across your whole life.
